How Do I secure my iPhone with a security code?

With all of the personal information that people store on their cell phones these days it always amazes me that people don’t know how to set up a passcode.

After talking with Four workmates that also have the iPhone I was surprised that none of them had set up a pass code on their phones, so decided to put up a brief article on the subject.

It is very simple to do and I will detail the steps below. You might be saying to yourself that you won’t lose your new iPhone but then stop and think about all the photos,data,numbers that are stored in your phone.

After completing the few simple steps below, if someone finds you phone they will have no way of using it or accessing the personal information on the phone.

Step one: On the home screen tap on the little grey icon with the gear cog on it, that has settings written underneath.

Step two: Tap on the word general and then tap on Pass code lock to turn it on.

Step three: In the set pass code screen you will be asked to enter a four digit passcode.

Step Four: When you enter the pass code, the system will them prompt you to set a time interval that will automatically lock the iPhone. The shorter time that follows the entry of the code the safer the phone will be. You can set this for up to Four hours after, but I cannot really think of a sensible application for that plan.

After you have set the pass code it will only be required only if you are making a phone call or accessing other functions. To receive a call naturally you will not need to enter your code each time.

Doesn’t sound like much trouble to go to when you think about all the information you have stored on the phone does it. Particularly if you have your iPhone synced with business emails that contain secure information.

I would like something like ear-buds, small so I can put them in my pocket or something when I’m not using them. If it helps, I will be using it mainly for my iPhone and perhaps Macbook

I really like the Jaybirds the best out of those 3, but I have heard a few times that when using with ur iPhone or other device, it disconnects often when its in your pocket, and it works only when you have it on an armband.

Are there any other headphones similar to any these 3 I should look into?

I was in the same position you are in. Unfortunately, bluetooth technology has not caught up to our pricing needs. I purchased the Motorola S9-HD and they are awesome for 0 bluetooth headphones.
